Every year, I like going on a fall trip since I’m fortunate to get off work for Columbus day. I was heavily influenced the previous year by all of the photos of Vermont popping up, so I decided to go there for a long weekend. Vermont is known for its small towns, “leaf peeping,” covered bridges, Ben & Jerry factory, and lots of sugary treats. This is what I did:
Day 1
· Fly Dulles to Burlington 8:15AM to 9:58AM
· Pick up rental car
· Drive to Spirit of Ethan Allen Cruise for lunch while sailing around Lake Champlain
· Lake Champlain Chocolate Factory
· Shelburne Farm for apple cider donuts and hayride around farm
· Shelburne Vineyard for cheese and wine pairings
· Check in to Northern Lights Inn in Stowe
Day 2
· Drive to Gold Brook covered bridge
· Cold Hollow Cider Mill for lunch, apple cider making demonstration and for apple cider donuts
· Ben & Jerry factory tour with ice cream
· Cabot store for cheese tasting

· Taftsville Covered Bridge
· Town of Woodstock for shops and lunch
· Green Mountain Sugar House for maple creamee and views

o Broomley Mountain Ski Lift
Day 4
· Drive to New Hampshire to the White Mountains
· Ride the railway train up to the top of the White Mountains
· Possible hikes
o Artists Bluff (a mile)
o Arethusa Falls (3 mile)
o Flume (2 mile)
